Thermal Dispersion Gas Flowmeter
All field transmitters of the COMBIMASS® series apply thermal dispersion technology in order to measure directly the normal volumentric or gas mass flow, regardless of the operating pressure and temperature of the medium.

All flowmeter get a calibration in the Binder CAMASS® Calibration Lab taking process conditions like piping, flow direction, pressure, temperature and gas composition into consideration. This guarantees a high accuracy of the flowmeter.



COMBIMASS® Flowmeter basic
 
The field transmitters of the COMBIMASS® basic series are suitable for flow rate measurement of compressed air and technical gases at medium temperatures up to 130°C and gas pressures up to 40 bar.
The electronics of the COMBIMASS® basic is located in a dual compartment aluminium enclosure.
Typical applications are: compressed air – flow rate measurement and balancing, flow metering of technical gases, inert and supply gases such as N2, Ar, as weel as He.


COMBIMASS® Flowmeter eco  
The field transmitters of the COMBIMASS® eco series are suitable for flow rate measurement of various technical gases at medium temperatures up to 220°C and gas pressures up to 64 bar. Explosionproof versions for zone 1 and zone 0 can be supplied too.
The electronics of the COMBIMASS® eco is located in a compression-proof dual compartment stainless steel enclosure. Typical Applications are: flow rate measurement and balancing of air and technical gases, combustion gases such as methane, propane, natural gas, exhaust air and waste gases, combustion air in incineration plants, biogas in wastewater and environmental installations, process gases and other gases and gas mixtures of known composition.


COMBIMASS® Flowmeter compact
BThe field transmitters of the COMBIMASS® compact series are suitable for flow rate measurement of various technical gases at medium temperatures up to 290°C and gas pressures up to 100 bar. Explosionproof versions for zone 1 and zone 0 can be supplied too.
The electronics of the COMBIMASS® compact is located in a compression-proof dual compartment stainless steel enclosure. Typical Applications are: flow rate measurement and balancing of combustion gases such as methane, propane, natural gas, exhaust air and waste gases at high temperatures, in corrosive and explosive gases at high gas pressure, process gases like acetylene, hydrogen, phosgene, ozone, other gases and gas mixtures of known composition.


COMBIMASS® Flowmeter eco-bio +
The field transmitters of the COMBIMASS® eco-bio+ series are suitable for flow rate measurement of biogas at medium temperatures up to 130°C and gas pressures up to 1,3 bar. Explosionproof versions for zone 1 and zone 2 can be supplied too.
Depending on the type of the COMBIMASS® eco-bio+ the electronics is located in a compression-proof dual compartment stainless steel enclosure or a compact aluminium housing. Typical Applications are: flow rate measurement and balancing of biogas from anaerobic digestors, a gas mixture of known composition.


COMBIMASS® Flowmeter oem-bio L
The field transmitters of the COMBIMASS® oem-bio L are suitable for flow rate measurement of biogas at medium temperatures up to 130°C and gas pressures up to 1,3 bar for framework contractors. Explosionproof versions for zone 2 can be supplied too.
The electronics of the COMBIMASS® oem-bio L the electronics is located in a compact aluminium housing. Typical Applications are: flow rate measurement and balancing of biogas from anaerobic digestors, a gas mixture of known composition. The calibration and installation conditions are fixed and need a local adjustment by the customer.



COMBIMASS® Flowmeter multi
The COMBIMASS® multi module is used to build up an efficient multi-point measuring system of gas flow using thermal dispersion technology. The electronic module can handle signals of max. Up to three transmitters of COMBIMASS® series basic, eco or compact can be connected with one multi module. The COMBIMASS® multipoint system allows for thermal flow rate measurement of gases even with short inlet and outlet pipe sections, nominal diameters larger than DN 500 or rectangular ducts. In such situations flow profile distortions may occur, which normally lead to errors in flow metering of gases. By installing multiple measuring points over the cross-section of the pipe or duct and averaging the flow signals, COMBIMASS® multi enables accurate and reproducible results even in such demanding applications.
Typical applications are: flow rate measurement of air or sterilized air in rectangular ducts, eg. in semiconductor industry, for dosing of drugs in pharmaceutical industry, in air conditioning, stack monitoring in power and incineration plants, cement industry and other industrial plants, combustion air and pre-heater air flow monitoring, flue and waste gas recirculation monitoring, gas flow monitoring through scrubbers and precipitators, redundant flow monitoring of process gases in critical applications, flow rate measurement of gas mixtures with variable composition in pipes with large nominal diameter or short inlet and outlet sections (eg. combustion gases, flare gases, process gases, …).



COMBIMASS® Master-Module for monitoring and control
The COMBIMASS® master electronic module can be combined with each field transmitter of the COMBIMASS® series for thermal gas flow measurement. This allows to upgrade any basic COMBIMASS® flow meter to a high performance measuring system for demanding and sophisticated applications.

The COMBIMASS® master electronic module features two analog outputs, which can be assigned individually. This allows to provide signals indicating the flow rate and the operating temperature of the gas at the same time.

Additionally COMBIMASS® master allows to monitor flow rate or temperature limits via three programable relay outputs. The switch points can be set individually in the field to alarm at high, low or windowed flow rates or process temperatures or to control external components, such as shut-off devices, valves, pumps, etc.


COMBIMASS® Hot Tapping Unit for flow meter
The COMBIMASS® Hot Tapping Unit OEIN is used to remove the COMBIMASS® flow meter during operation at high temperatures as well as at high gas pressure gastight for check and maintenance.
By loosening the clamping screw fitting nut, the sensor rod can be pulled back to the stop position. Only then can the ball valve be closed without risk. The measuring unit can be completely removed by loosening the clamping screw fitting transition nipple.
A special version with a second small ball valve for gas sampling to the analyzer or analyzer station can be supplied.
